blog 52
I would ask the warden to make me pretty. What else are going to do, rebuild the Smoke? I'd rather be pretty than go through all that again. It doesn't seem worth it.
blog 51
I would regret having come clean. Now Daid is avoiding her and probaly does blame her for his father's death. But Tally doesn't regret it. I bet she's happy she finally told the truth even though everybody hates her now.
blog 50
No Maddy shouldn't have forced Shay to get the cure. Nobody should be made to do something they don't want to do.
blog 49
I wouldn't get the cure. It seems just fine to me to be beautiful and go to partys all day and night.
blog 48
The quote about brain lesions knawing on who she was doesn't really mea anything to me. It's just another paragraph in a 300 paged book.
blog 46
I'll say it has a deeper meaning, just because it sounds like that that's where they do operations with the lesions.
One of the labels is the morgue. I think it's where they keep the dead bodies of operations that haven't gone right.
Shay looks tall, graceful, and elegant, eyes are deep with flecks of copper and gold.

If I had one mesage, I would probaly just tell my family that I love them, considering it's the last thing I'll ever to say to them.
blog 44
She reaizes that there's more to life than being a pretty. David and his parents are the ones who changed her by telling her about the brain lesions.
blog 43
I think he plans will work, but barely. They will probaly have SC right behind them the whole time. Tally is just trying to make up for selling out the smoke in the first place, but I don't think she's crazy, just weird.
blog 42
David and Tally have been describing The Rusties, a.k.a us, as being stupid, ugly, selfish people. It's not totally accurarte, but some of it is for different people. Like being stupid, some people are, but some aren't. A weakness in our society is global warming, though I think it's weird that while global warming is happening, it starts snowing in Texas. a weakness in their society is that the government makes people belive one thing and they never doubt it.

I think a time that nobody was prepared was for the Tsunami that happened a few yaers ago in Sri Lanka. The most powerful earthquake in 40 years erupted under the Indian Ocean near Sumatra on Dec. 26, 2004. It caused giant, deadly waves to crash ashore in nearly a dozen countries, killing tens of thousands. A long stretch of Sri Lanka's coast was devastated by these killer waves, with more than 40,000 dead and staggering 2.5 million people displaced. Although 1,600km from the epicentre, the waves struck with huge force and swept inland as far as 5 kilometers. Waves as high as six meters had crashed into coastal villages, sweeping away people, cars and even a train with 1700 passengers. It was the worst human disaster in Sri Lanka history.

The irony is that Tally was the one who ruined the Smoke in the first place, now she's happy with anything thats left of it. The Boss was lost in the whole ordeal of the magazines.

blog 39
Tally should be feeling guilty. She ruined the lives of a lot people, including her boyfriend and best friend, and then just doesnt say anything? No, shes not amazing, David only thinks shes amazing because shes been lying to him the whole time.
blog 38
Its David. Even if I hadnt already read the chapter I would've known that. It's definatly an ally, so I think now David and Tally will band together and try to fix the Smoke.
blog 37
Ya, self preservation is pretty important. You dont want to throw yourself away all the time, have some respect for yourself. I would lie for it, most people would. Why wouldnt you?
blog 36
Tally is still on the Smokies side. After realizing what the operation did to your brain, she will never believe in Special Circumstances.
blog 35
If this isn't the climax then i dont know what would be. Its not like anything too terribly exciting has happened so far, so yes, I would say that this is the climax of the story. The whole plot line was building itself up for this part, when Tally goes to Special Circumstances, then is forced on a mission, after she arrives that the smoke she starts to like it, then she tries to symbolicly throw the pendant into the fire. Definatly the climax.
blog 34
I think my mom is beautiful. She is the best person to me, and I dont know what I would without her. Not just with school work, like book reports, homework, and other major assignments, without her I think this house would just fall apart. She always there for me, and I love my mom!
One of my best friends is beautiful to me. She never brags about herself or makes herself seem better than others. I've known her for awhile now, and i would never make it through the school year without my best friend.

"Becoming pretty doesnt just change the way you look... it changes the way you think."
This one quote pretty much sums up the book. It says that being pretty changes a lot more than most people think it does, and thats the main conflict.
Of course if I would to be prettier... im not sure what i'd like to be more pretty. But I would also like to be smarter and still keep all of my habits. I wouldnt be me if I didnt avt like it.

I think Shay is has a right to be jelous of Tally because Tally just shows up and does one day of work, then gets gloves from David, who she likes.
For my bithday, I got an Apple IPod Touch, and Serena had always wanted one. She didn't talk to me for a day because she was upset that she didn't recieve one either.

It would have been easier for Tally to give the smoke away when she first arrived because she wouldn't have known how much it means to some people. It was a a way of life for some people, but Tally wouldn't have understood that at the beginning.
blog 28
I think David's parents ran way because there is something wrong with becoming a pretty. When you become pretty, the Doctors change you somehow. When Tally asked David "They reversed the operation?" and when David says, "Yes", I think thats saying that there was something wrong with it.

I think Shay's description about models were just a little off. They're used to perfection, so when they see a person from out time of what we thought was "pretty," Tally and Shay see it differently. Tally and shay were right about some thingd in our time, but they still had some things wrong. What they had right, though, was that we do use a lot of metal, and we are messing up the world.

- The rangers came and rescued Tally.
- they gave her new clothes and explained to Tally about the flowers.
- Tally is dropped off near the "bald head"
"Tally was stuck out here in the wild forever. Ugly for life. Her only way home was to betray her friend."
Tally chose what her own decision. She needs to stop complaining about her choices and deal with them.
blog 23
imagery-"Billowing clouds of smoke surrounded her, blotting out the sky. A ragged wall of flame moved through the flowers, giving off a wave of blistering heat."
personification- "Fingers of it shot up the hill..."
simile- "...Like stabbing a poker into a slumbering fire."

I think the flying machine was a helicopter containing people from the Smoke. I think the Smokies will find her and take her to the Smoke.
blog 21
Everyday, I have to practice playing my tuba. I really don't like practicing, but i know I have to to become a better player.
i think that Tally will find the Smoke, give the position to Dr. Cable, then wish she hadn't.
